With the much-anticipated launch of W Rome, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s network of 30 remarkable hotel brands, W Hotels Worldwide makes its sleek and energetic Italian debut. The 162-room hotel, which spans two neighboring 19th-century palazzos, creates a striking first impression as it redefines sophisticated hospitality in the center of Rome.

The hotel, designed by Meyer Davis, contrasts the city’s ancient architecture and cultural legacy with a distinct interpretation of the Roman style in a compelling, luxurious, and uniquely W way. Reflective surfaces provide a fresh, contemporary touch to an eclectic combination of colored leather furnishings and stone walls from the building’s history.

W Rome Living room

The W Lounge, which includes a beautiful skylight and patterned glass window allowing light to pour through the bright and airy open room, welcomes guests. Elegant sculptures and works of art surround eclectic seating spaces, which are complemented by black and grey marble floors. The walls that front the elegant reflective stainless steel Welcome Desk pods are wrapped in a head-turning hand-painted mural.

The mural, inspired by Roman gardens and painted by Italian artist Costanza Alvarez de Castro, promotes discovery by presenting the tale of the destination’s spectacular topography.

The 147 modern bedrooms and 15 suites have a city apartment feel to them, with many having private balconies and terraces, some with spectacular views of the city, and sites like the Istituto Svizzero. The apartments have floor-to-ceiling windows draped in crimson wine velvet drapes, as well as hardwood herringbone-patterned flooring that blends into contemporary marble restrooms.

The captivating interiors infuse vivid color blocks and strong graphic patterns of burnt orange, dramatic red, and leafy greens into the buildings’ original and undeniable appeal, fueled by Rome’s history, present, and future. The Extreme WOW (Presidential) Suite is opulent and welcoming, with a spacious terrace that provides unusual and sought-after interior and outdoor living in the heart of the city.

Historical Roman architectural features are blended with cutting-edge in-room technology and custom-designed modern furnishings in the suite’s décor.

W Rome Dining

The Michelin-starred Ciccio Sultano, who presents a contemporary, inventive interpretation of traditional Sicilian culinary methods, brings Sicilian flare and unequaled gourmet expertise to Rome’s dining scene. The flagship Giano Restaurant presents guests with a blend of Sicilian cuisine and Roman culture via creative use of real Italian tastes and unique Sicilian ingredients.

Locals and visitors alike may indulge in all-day Italian cuisine with a wonderful selection of shared plates and fresh handmade pasta meals.

An open-air courtyard, Giardino Clandestino, is located in the heart of W Rome and is quickly becoming a must-visit place in the city for socializing and enjoying live entertainment while having an Aperitivo Eterno accompanied with Sicilian street food delights.

The mastermind of Zucchero x Fabrizio Fiorani, W Rome’s sweet treat destination, is world-renowned pastry chef Fabrizio Fiorani. Everything is meticulously crafted, from freshly baked croissants to handmade gelato. Those who dine at Giano will be given a coin to use in Zucchero’s sweet machine, which is stocked with handcrafted chocolates – another unexpected bonus of the W Rome experience.

W Rome W Lounge

The hotel’s W Lounge, located on the ground level, comes alive at night with live music, DJ performances, and a creative cocktail menu including great mixology with infused spirits and unusual ingredients. The WET Deck, which has a plunge pool, and Otto Rooftop Bar, a calm retreat with panoramic views of Rome and cocktails, Crudo, and pizza, are both located on the rooftop terrace.

With the inaugural FUEL x Petra Studio Gym and personal training program, Italian athlete Pietro Boselli has crafted wellness at W Rome. Boselli will give tourists and locals high-intensity exercises unlike anything else in the city, including boxing and yoga.
