For many Hawai‘i residents, Las Vegas isn’t just a vacation spot—it’s the “Ninth Island,” offering an exciting getaway filled with entertainment, dining, and world-class accommodations. Now, a new partnership between Hyatt Hotels Corporation and The Venetian Resort Las Vegas makes this beloved destination even more accessible to travelers from the islands.

Booking Paradise in the Desert

With a long-term licensing agreement announced on December 18, 2024, The Venetian Resort Las Vegas will soon be bookable through Hyatt’s reservation channels, including Hyatt.com and the World of Hyatt mobile app. This means travelers can earn and redeem World of Hyatt points while enjoying the resort’s luxurious all-suite accommodations, award-winning dining, and iconic attractions like gondola rides through the Grand Canal.

Why This Is Big News for Hawai‘i Travelers

Hyatt loyalists in Hawai‘i already appreciate the brand’s island properties, such as the well positioned Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa. This new partnership offers expanded opportunities to earn points while experiencing the glitz and glamour of the Las Vegas Strip.

“The licensing agreement with The Venetian Resort Las Vegas adds 7,000 rooms and 2.25 million square feet of meeting space,” said Mark Vondrasek, Chief Commercial Officer at Hyatt. “World of Hyatt members will now have even more options to earn and redeem loyalty points when visiting Las Vegas.”

An All-Suite Escape

The Venetian Resort, home to The Venetian and The Palazzo, offers the largest suites on the Strip, recently refreshed through a $1.5 billion transformation. With décor inspired by the Venetian Carnival, the resort combines old-world charm with modern luxury. Guests can stroll along scenic canals, indulge in culinary masterpieces from chefs like Wolfgang Puck and Thomas Keller, or marvel at cutting-edge entertainment like the Sphere at The Venetian.

Looking Ahead

As part of the agreement, Hyatt and The Venetian will collaborate on group travel services, including conventions, meetings, and events. Additionally, elite Venetian Rewards members can expect exciting new benefits within the World of Hyatt loyalty program.

For Hawai‘i travelers planning their next Vegas escape, this partnership means more rewarding stays, luxurious experiences, and the convenience of booking through a trusted brand they already love.

Aloha, and welcome. Your journey around the web has brought you here, and I’m grateful for the chance to share a bit about Hawaiʻi with you. I do my best to provide thoughtful insights on hotels, airlines, dining, and the ever-evolving travel scene in Hawaiʻi. My role? I’m the one steering the ship—quietly behind the scenes—making sure every piece of information you find here is worth your time. I grew up in Kaʻalaea on Oʻahu, surrounded by the beauty and complexity of Hawaiʻi, which shaped how I see the world and connect with it. As a native Hawaiian and someone who works in below-wing operations for Hawaiian Airlines, I’ve always been drawn to understanding the details—whether it’s about travel, culture, or the people who make it all happen. I travel extensively across the islands, seeking out what’s new, what’s changing, and what’s truly worth sharing. From the latest hotel openings to restaurant reviews and updates on travel trends, I aim to bring you accurate, first-hand insights you can trust. For a closer look, you can also find me on YouTube, where I dive deeper with visual reviews and updates. My hope is that this space helps you connect with Hawaiʻi in a meaningful way, whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth.

  1. Ha, I don’t know that I would call the Hyatt Regency in Waikiki stunning…its stunningly dated perhaps. I’ll be curious to see what the Venetian’s redemption rates are like.

    • Yeah that was a bit much, changed to “well positioned”, ha! Grand Hyatt on Kaua’i, now thats a stunning property. I think we should watch it closely, especially as it first rolls out. There may be some enticing offers to get us in when the program is still new. Hopefully the Cosmo/Marriott & Venetian/Hyatt teams battle it out with sweet redemption rates.

  2. As a mainland-based Globalist I can’t help but wonder if a lot of the expectations of high level elites are going to be frustrated in this new partnership, as happened with the Rio this year. Will The Venetian genuinely offer a full breakfast for room occupants? Suite upgrades in line with other Hyatt properties? Guaranteed late checkout, etc.? That’s a tall bill of goods to fill.

    • ah yes, the Rio breakfast debacle is still being discussed on forums. Hopefully someone at the Venetian reads reddit or the travel blogs and knows that this is important.
